Can't believe this was almost 10 years ago!  Check out this article from Rapid on 'Spud' boats - the radical new 'short' and 'corky' boats that starting bobbing down local runs.

While at the time I think most folks thought that we had gone as short as we could go.   While some of today's designs are still pushing shorter others are going a bit more 'old school' and producing boats like the ones talked about in this article.
