Canoeroots & Family Camping magazine has partnered with Parks Canada and the Canadian Heritage Rivers System to produce the first-ever Experience Canadian Heritage Rivers Photo Contest. Find out how to enter.

Winning photographs will be published in the Spring 2012 issue of Canoeroots & Family Camping magazine and will tour to more than 75 cities with the Reel Paddling Film Festival 2012 World Tour. The contest will also be promoted through Parks Canada, its provincial and territorial partners in the CHRS and at the local river level.
“This contest is a great way to showcase the natural beauty of the Canadian Heritage Rivers System through our contest winners’ photos,” said Alan Latourelle, Chief Executive Officer of Parks Canada. “In our centennial year, we hope to inspire Canadians to experience and connect with the 41 rivers in the system and share images that celebrate their recreational, natural and cultural heritage. Outdoor and paddling enthusiasts will get a unique opportunity to discover or re-discover these exceptional rivers and spread the word about their role in their lives.”
The Experience Canadian Heritage Rivers Photo Contest encourages Canadian paddlers, campers and river users to get out and enjoy any of the 41 rivers in the CHRS and then submit their images in four categories: nature, culture, adventure, and of Parks Canada’s Canadian Heritage Rivers. The contest runs from July 1, 2011 to October 31, 2011. Winners will be notified Friday December 2, 2011. Full contest rules are available at www.canoerootsmag.com/chrsphotocontest.
There are more than $6,000 in prizes, including $500 gift cards for Black Feather Wilderness Programs, Parks Canada Discovery Passes, Teva Footwear, Salus Marine Wear PFDs and Rapid Media subscription bundles.
“I’m very excited about this fantastic new partnership and contest,” says Rapid Media founder and publisher Scott MacGregor. “We’ve pulled together our Canoeroots magazine, canoerootsmag.com and our Reel Paddling Film Festival to promote the contest, Canadian Heritage Rivers and then the contest winners.”
