RAPID MEDIA Welcomes Michael Duffy
As New Director of Sales

Palmer Rapids, ON, December 21, 2011 – Rapid Media is proud to announce the addition of Michael Duffy to their team as Director of Sales. An experienced and talented leader, he has successfully managed sales and marketing teams in North America and developed international distribution in the paddlesports industry.

Many moons ago, Duffaroonie landed in Arcata, California, for university and a job at Yakima, but he’s best known for his 11 years in sales, marketing and product development at paddlesports icon, Kokatat Watersports Wear.

“Duffy and I met and sat together on the TAPS board. I flew home from our AGM at Outdoor Retailer and told my wife that I’d found the guy I want running our sales department—except back then we were just getting started and Tanya and I were running everything,” remembers Rapid Media founder and publisher Scott MacGregor.

“I’m coming at an exciting time at Rapid Media—partnerships with the ACA and Paddle Canada, the Paddling Buyer’s Guide and a growing film festival. While at Kokatat, I was a big supporter of Scott, the Rapid team and their potential in the paddling world. These guys paddle and they truly care about their customers and the industry,” said Duffaluffagus.

Duffman will continue to live with his family near the coast in northern California where he will manage Rapid Media’s new US advertising and circulation sales office.

Duffareeno has worked in the outdoor industry since his first job in a bike shop at age 14. Introduced to sea kayaking while managing Adventure’s Edge, he has a passion for the ocean. When not on his iPhone, Duffadoodledandy spends his time with his wife and daughter, riding his bike, making apple cider and chasing chickens out of his garden.
